When you transfer a French number to Onoff Business, we send the request to your current operator. If any detail does not exactly match their records, they can reject the port. This article lists the most common rejection reasons and how to avoid them.
Before you submit
Check these points to avoid most rejections:
- Your company details match your latest operator invoice exactly.
- The RIO code is recent and matches the number.
- The line is active and no cancellation is in progress.
- For a landline: the porting mandate is completed and signed, and you know whether the number is part of a range.
Rejection reasons and solutions
| Reason | Examples | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Account details don't match | Company name, SIRET, address, customer reference or legal entity don't match | Use the exact details from your latest operator invoice. |
| Invalid RIO code | Wrong RIO, regenerated several times, or linked to another contract | Call 3179 from the line to get a new RIO. For a business line, ask your operator. |
| Line not active | Number suspended or terminated, cancellation scheduled, another port in progress | Ask your operator to confirm the line is active, and reactivate it if needed. |
| Number in a range (landlines) | "Number part of a range – incomplete request" | Ask your operator whether the number is part of a block. If so, port the whole block in one request. |
| Contractual restriction | Active long-term contract, dispute, corporate landline package needing validation | Check with your operator that no restriction applies. Unpaid bills cannot justify a rejection. |
If your request is rejected
- We send you the official reason given by your operator.
- Correct the information or document concerned.
- Submit the request again. There is no waiting period.
If in doubt before submitting or after a rejection, email support@onoffbusiness.com.
