Setting Up Your Device Accessory
Whether you’re using a headset, microphone, speaker, or Bluetooth accessory, a proper setup ensures clear audio and smooth communication—especially for calling apps like Onoff Business. Follow the steps below to connect and configure your accessory correctly.
Check Compatibility
Before connecting your accessory, make sure it is compatible with:
- Your device (iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows)
- The connection type (Bluetooth, USB, jack, etc.)
- The app you plan to use, such as Onoff Business
If the manufacturer provides a companion app, install it first for the best experience.
Charge or Power On the Accessory
Many accessories must be prepared before pairing.
Make sure to:
- Charge the accessory if needed
- Turn it on
- Put it into pairing mode
A blinking light usually indicates that the device is ready to pair.
Connect via Bluetooth (Wireless Accessories)
- Open Settings on your device.
- Go to Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Select your accessory from the list.
- Wait for the Connected confirmation.
If the accessory doesn’t appear:
- Turn it off and on again
- Press and hold the pairing button
- Move it closer to your device
Connect via Cable (Wired Accessories)
If you’re using a wired accessory (USB, USB-C, Lightning, or 3.5 mm jack):
- Plug the accessory in securely.
- Wait a few seconds for the device to recognize it.
Some accessories may require:
- An adapter
- Driver installation (on computers)
Allow Necessary Permissions
For audio accessories to work properly with calling apps, make sure the app has access to:
- Microphone
- Bluetooth (if applicable)
- Phone or call permissions
On web browsers, you may also need to:
- Allow microphone access
- Enable pop-ups and redirects in site settings
These permissions are essential for apps like Onoff Business.
Select the Accessory as Input and Output
On most devices:
From system settings:
- Open Settings → Sound
- Choose the correct microphone and speaker or headset
Or from within your calling app:
- Open audio or call settings
- Select the desired input and output device
Test the Accessory
After setup, run a quick test:
- Play audio
- Make a test call
- Record a short voice note
If the sound isn’t clear, switch between:
- Device speaker
- Wired headset
- Bluetooth accessory
