If you are not receiving certain SMS on your Onoff number, here is what you need to know and what you can do.
1. SMS from special numbers / online services
Some services (banks, social networks, online platforms, etc.) send verification SMS with codes (OTP) from special numbers or automated systems.
In some cases, these services block SMS delivery to VoIP numbers, such as Onoff numbers.
This blocking is handled directly by the service provider, not by Onoff.
- This situation can last a few days, weeks, or even several months.
- Unfortunately, Onoff cannot force these services to allow SMS to VoIP numbers.
We can, however, try to escalate the issue to the provider, but we cannot guarantee a positive outcome.
What should you do?
If you are not receiving verification codes from a specific service (bank, website, app, etc.), please:
- note the name of the service,
- then contact our support at support@onoffbusiness.com,
explaining that you are not receiving their SMS on your Onoff number.
2. SMS from regular mobile numbers (standard operators)
If you are not receiving SMS from regular mobile numbers or traditional operators (e.g. Orange, SFR, Free, Bouygues, etc.):
Please contact our support with as much detail as possible:
- your Onoff number,
- the sender’s phone number,
- the approximate date and time the SMS was sent,
- if possible, a screenshot from the sender’s phone showing the message sent.
