(Android menus vary depending on device brands and versions.)
If you are not receiving Onoff notifications, follow these main steps to restore proper functionality.
1. Log out and reinstall the app
- Open the Onoff app.
- Tap the three lines (menu) and log out.
- Delete the app and reinstall it from the Google Play Store.
- Log back into your account.
This resets notification settings correctly.
2. Enable notifications during reconnection
When reopening the app, make sure all notifications and permissions are enabled,
except "Onoff Calls", which should remain disabled.
3. Check notifications inside the app
Go to My Account > App Settings > Notifications and ensure all options are switched on (green).
4. Check Android app permissions
Go to Settings > Apps > Onoff > Permissions, and ensure the following are enabled:
- Contacts
- Microphone
- Phone
⚠️ Android may automatically revoke unused permissions, so it’s important to verify them.
5. Allow the app to run in the background
Go to Settings > Battery and set Onoff to:
- No restriction / Unrestricted
Also ensure the app is not put into sleep mode or battery optimization.
Depending on the device, this may appear as:
- Battery optimization
- Power saving mode
- Background limits
6. Check “Do Not Disturb” mode
Go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and confirm it is disabled or properly configured to allow notifications.
7. Check Android native notification settings
In Settings > Apps > Onoff > Notifications :
- Make sure all notification categories are enabled.
(Important for Android 12 and above.)
8. Update your device
In Settings > Software Update :
- Ensure your system is up to date.
Still not receiving notifications?
Delete and reinstall the app again — this can clear temporary files that interfere with notifications.
