If your personal address book shows several unfamiliar numbers or mixed contact information, this issue is almost always caused by the Onoff Calls feature.

Here’s why and how to fix it

1. Why this mixing happens

When Onoff Calls is enabled:

  • The app synchronizes your contacts.
  • Each contact is assigned a gateway number, used to improve call quality.

👉 If you deactivate and reactivate Onoff Calls, new gateway numbers are generated.

Example:

  • A gateway number previously linked to Contact A may, after reactivation, be assigned to Contact J.
  • This results in mixed or duplicated contact entries.

This is expected behavior when Onoff Calls has been toggled on/off multiple times.

2. How to fix the issue

You have two choices:
➡️ Keep Onoff Calls (with a clean reset)
➡️ Disable Onoff Calls permanently

Below are the detailed procedures.

Option 1: Keep Onoff Calls (clean reset)

To restore a clean configuration:

  1. Disable Onoff Calls.
  2. Log out of the app.
  3. Delete the app.
  4. Reinstall it from your store.
  5. Log back in.
  6. Re-enable Onoff Calls.
  7. Enable automatic updates in your store.

⚠️ Important:
Once Onoff Calls is reactivated, do not disable it, do not log out, and avoid uninstalling the app.
This prevents gateway numbers from being regenerated and avoids contact mixing.

Option 2: Disable Onoff Calls completely

If you prefer not to use gateway numbers:

  1. Open Onoff Business → menu ☰.
  2. Go to My Account > Call Settings.
  3. Disable Onoff Calls.
  4. Delete the app.
  5. Reinstall the app.
  6. Log in again.
  7. Allow all permissions.
  8. Do not re-enable Onoff Calls.

Your address book will no longer be modified.

3. Call alternatives if Onoff Calls is disabled

🔹 Option 1: GSM network calls

  • Simple and stable
  • Best for domestic calls

🔹 Option 2: WiFi/4G calls

(Disable Onoff Calls + Enable “Call via WiFi/Data”)

  • Useful for international calls
  • Helps avoid roaming charges
