Zapier: automate your calls and SMS

The Zapier integration connects Onoff to hundreds of tools (Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable, Trello…). A call, SMS or voicemail can trigger an automatic action, and Zapier can create contacts or send SMS in Onoff. Zapier doesn't store data: it passes it to the connected tools.

Plan: Advanced or Max. Role: Owner or Admin.

Use cases

  • Add each outgoing call to a Google Sheets spreadsheet.
  • Get a Slack notification for each new voicemail.
  • Create an Onoff contact from a form.
  • Send an automatic follow-up SMS after a call.

Get the API key

  1. In the console, open Integrations & API > Zapier.
  2. Click Get API Key and copy the key.

Renew API Key generates a new key: the old one stops working immediately, and your Zaps stop until you paste the new key into Zapier.

Triggers (Onoff → Zapier)

TriggerWhenData sent
New Incoming Call / New Outgoing CallWhen the call endsCaller and callee numbers, date and time, duration, notes and tags saved during the call
New VoicemailWhen the voicemail is receivedSame data, plus the voicemail link
New SMS Is Received / New SMS Is SentImmediatelySender and recipient numbers, date and time, message text

Notes and tags changed after the call aren't sent. Times follow the time zone in the Onoff account settings.

  2. Choose the New Outgoing Call trigger.
  3. Connect your account by pasting the Onoff API key.
  4. Select the Onoff numbers involved.
  5. Test the trigger.
  6. Choose the Google Sheets > Create Row action and map the fields (number, duration, date…) to columns.
  7. Test, publish, then make a call to check.

Remove the integration

In Integrations & API > Zapier, click Remove. The API key is deleted and all Zaps using it stop. You can generate a new key at any time.
