During a call, you can transfer it to a colleague or another number, from the web app or the mobile app. Two modes are available:
| Mode | How it works | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Transfer (cold) | The call is redirected immediately. You leave the call without speaking to the recipient. | The recipient doesn't need any context. |
| Chat & Transfer (warm) | Your caller is put on hold. You first call the recipient to brief them, then complete the transfer. | The recipient needs context before taking the call. |
Make a direct transfer
- During the call, click the three dots (⋮) next to the call controls.
- Select Transfer call.
- Choose Direct Transfer.
- Choose the recipient: recent contact, contact search or new number.
- Click Transfer.
You leave the call and your caller is connected to the recipient. The message "Successfully transferred" appears.
Make a transfer with a briefing (Chat & Transfer)
- During the call, click the three dots (⋮).
- Select Transfer call, then Chat & Transfer.
- Choose the recipient, then click Transfer.
- Your caller is put on hold and an internal call starts with the recipient.
- Brief the recipient, then click Complete Transfer.
Your caller is connected to the recipient and you leave the call.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| The recipient declines | The internal call ends and you're automatically back on the call with your caller. |
| The recipient doesn't answer | Return to the call from the menu. Your caller stays on hold until then. |
Track transfers in your call history
Each transfer appears in the call history with:
- the "Transferred" label;
- the destination contact or number;
- the transfer time and call durations.
Tips
- Check the number before transferring, especially if you typed it manually.
- Keep the briefing short: the key point of the request is enough.
- If the recipient is unavailable, get back to your caller quickly to limit waiting time.
- Agree as a team on when to use each mode.
Good to know
- Transferring to an external number uses minutes.
- The steps above describe the web app. Transfer is also available in the mobile app.
